About Us

SouthBARK was founded in 2010 with the goal of decreasing the total number of healthy dogs being killed each year in our shelters by providing safe and caring homes for them.  We are 100% volunteer and every penny we raise goes directly to the dogs we save. SouthBARK relies completely on donations from the public.

We do not have a facility. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes where they receive the medical care and affection they require until a “forever home” is found.

SouthBARK has a diverse base of volunteers and we welcome help in any form – from driving a dog to the vet to cross posting a shelter dog’s picture. While our dogs are fostered in the South, we have volunteers across the U.S. We believe that anyone can, and should, take part in animal rescue. Together, we can “Move ‘Em Out!”

SouthBARK is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. Donations are tax deductible.
